-Mind maps: Identifying the needs of café visitors and defining core functions
-Low-fidelity prototype: Creating an initial prototype and testing it with fellow students
-Design iteration: Optimizing the design using mood boards and multiple iterations
-High-fidelity prototype: Final prototype that can be presented to the café operator

User Research

Target audience: Young adults (25-35 years old), especially young parents with young children, who are looking for a relaxed and efficient way to place their orders without leaving their children unattended.
Gender: Evenly distributed
Visit time: Primarily in the afternoon
Location: Near children's play areas to allow parents a break

User Journey

1. Access & Navigation: Scan the QR code to open the ordering system
2. Menu overview: Main category: Beverages, subcategories such as milk alternatives
3. Shopping cart & order: Add items, adjust quantities, or remove them
4. Payment: Complete directly via the platform

Development of an ordering system for a Basel café to avoid queues and streamline the ordering process. The system reduced waiting times at the counter and improved the customer experience.
